OFFERING TO OSIRIS (Stela painted on a sarcophagus; necropolis of Thebes—20th Dynasty)

Pedekhons, a priest of Amun, is pouring a libation on an offering table before Osiris and Isis. This scene is painted on the bottom of a wooden sarcophagus that Prisse had taken back to France; sarcophagi of this kind were made during the late New Kingdom.
